From L.A., take San Diego Fwy [405] exit on Sunset blvd. Go East , N. on Beverly Dr.( past Beverly Glen Blvd.), follow signs "To Coldwater Canyon Drive" to stoplight at Beverly Hills Fire Station #2, L. 1 Mile to Franklin Canyon Dr., R. 1 and a half miles to Lake Dr., follow signs to the canyon. From the Valley, take Ventura Fwy [101] exit on Coldwater Cyn. Dr. go South (cross over Mulholland Dr.) to the canyon.

You might enjoy a picnic in the lower canyon were there are tables and it is closer to parking.

At the upper canyon you will find the Nature Center. It's about a mile and 1/2 up the creek. The center has a scale model of the Santa Monica Mts., exhibits of animals that live in the canyon, Native Americans, and water conservation, You may also touch fossils, antlers, furs, bones and nests. This is where the William O. Douglas Outdoor classroom offers numerous programs.

The canyon entrance is open daily from dawn to dusk. The Nature Center is open daily from 9am-4pm.

Admission is free.
